A Return to Self

a short re-centering meditation
2

When you have a quiet moment to yourself, get your notebook and listen through this short meditation.  I invite you to sit with the question for as long as you like, and then write some notes to yourself afterward. If those notes turn into a poem or pages of journaling, great! But don't put any pressure on it.  Let what comes come.

It may just be a line or two, that is juuuust fine.

Some ideas to make space for your creative self:

 - If you can, create a space for your creative practices that doesn't need to be moved or cleaned up in order to live your life.  Ideally, it would also be away from prying eyes, but use what you have.

 - Think about what elements you could add that would make your space more appealing to be in (art, inspiring books, pillows, candles, tea, cats, a way to play music, somewhere to read, a yoga mat, etc)

 - If you're particularly busy right now, go through your calendar and block off an hour a week to engage in your creative practice.

 - Think about what time of day you are most creative, contemplative, and available and guard those times for your art!
