"I was never alone because I belonged to a literary family of smart, strange, curious children" THIS!!

I found my literary home with Anne of Green Gables and Matilda. I, too, felt wholly at one with these fictional characters who were more kid-like (at least in my mind) than the real kids I knew. Thank you for sharing this!

Reading this made me realize I never thought I was strange as a child, either, because of books. I thought everyone else was weird for a while. As I got older, I started to think I was the problem. And I definitely tried to fit in, doing all the wrong things. Thank you for sharing.
