Welcome to Earth and Verse!
Hi! I’m Alix Klingenberg—poet, photographer, and Earth-centered creative guide. Welcome to Earth & Verse, my little corner of the internet, where poetry, art, and imagination meet the rhythms of the natural world.
This space is for seekers and creatives who refuse to fit in a box. If your curiosity spills over into poetry, mythology, psychology, visual art, spirituality, and justice—welcome. You belong here.
For years, I thought I needed to “niche down” to build an audience. Turns out, many of us crave cross-pollination. We want to follow the threads of joy, grief, beauty, and transformation and weave them into something strange and wonderful and new. Earth & Verse is a place where I encourage you to get out of your own way, and get into the flow of your own creative practices.

What happens in the writing circles you may ask?
I have been leading seasonal creative groups for almost 10 years now, in various forms. Typically, we meet for 90 min-2 hrs over Zoom for a brief check-in, then I will read you a poem and offer a prompt. We will write for a few minutes, and do some sharing, then repeat the process. We often have time for 3-5 rounds of poems/prompts.
The circles are full of wonderful creatives, many of whom are:
new to writing in this kind of way (and are amazed at how quickly and effortlessly they find flow in the group.)
getting back into writing after years of doing other things.
professional writers looking for a generative space to write new things.
leaders who are excited to be in a space where they don’t need to lead, but rather can simply play and be with other writers.
